China Three Gorges Corporation’s Yangjiang Qingzhou Phase 5, 6 and 7 Offshore Wind Power Project boasts a total installed capacity of 3 gigawatts, claiming six world records including the world’s offshore wind project with the largest power transmission capacity and the world’s offshore wind flexible DC transmission project of the highest voltage level. The supporting offshore converter stations for Qingzhou Phase 5 and 7, hailed as the “Heart of Offshore Wind”, rank as the world’s largest offshore converter stations, which were officially shipped on May 27, 2026. Against the harsh operating conditions of offshore converter stations featuring high equipment density, concentrated heat generation, as well as high salt fog and severe corrosion in marine environments, Huadong Power supplied customized standby diesel generator sets with high protection ratings for the project. Equipped with Cummins marine diesel engines and Leroy-Somer marine alternators, these units ensure stable operation of precision electrical equipment onboard and safeguard the safety of power production.
